For parents of children with food allergies, planning a vacation can be stressful- especially to a place as exciting and often unpredictable as Walt Disney World. In my 6+ year career of creating magical vacation memories for clients, I can’t even begin to tell you how many of my clients come to me with tales of barley beginning the process and being stressed out and confused. But you don’t have to be one of those people because that is exactly why I’m here!
Here are my top 5 tips to help you conquer the castle and make the most of your magical adventure!
Tip 1: Choose the Right Time to Visit
Choosing the right time to visit Cinderella Castle is essential but not as hard to figure out as it seems. The fact is that there really isn’t much of an “off season” anymore. Personally, I attribute this to the pandemic. It forced us all to take a step back and reevaluate what’s really important- quality time together. Because of that, people are prioritizing family vacations now more than ever before. The most important things to keep in mind when selecting the ideal time to go are:
When can you mentally leave everything behind and focus on the experiences you’re investing in?
If everyone else is in school, they aren’t on vacation. If you are comfortable taking your kids out of school for a few days, you’ll avoid the higher crowds that are pretty much guaranteed over the summers, Spring Break, Winter Break, and Thanksgiving Break.
Make you sure know about the extra events that might enhance your stay! Things like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party or the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival can really add a lot to the experience, so consider attending during one of these exciting timeframes.
Tip 2: Lock Down Your Accommodations Early
With more than 30 Disney World resorts to choose from, this step can be overwhelming. The first thing I consider when selecting your ideal resort is which theme park you plan on spending the most time in. This will maximize your time and make transportation that much easier.
You’ll also want to make the very most of the amenities at your home away from home, so things like on site restaurants, pools, playgrounds, and activities can really add a lot of value to your stay.
The deposit on a Disney World vacation package is only $200 and you can make payments as often as you’d like. This is one of the things that will take a lot of the stress out of your getaway and allow you to really treat yourself to a vacation of a lifetime.
Tip 3: Arrive with a Plan
Showing up and feeling out the vibe just isn’t the best way to make the most of your Disney vacation anymore. There are simply too many moving parts and pieces to a Disney World adventure to leave to chance, but luckily for you, I create a ride-by-ride itinerary for each and every one of my clients so that they don’t have to worry about waiting in long lines! You’re going to spend less time staring at the back of other people’s heads and more time making memories! I utilize all sorts of different resources to track wait time data and put you in the ideal position to accomplish as many of your vacation goals as possible.
You’ll also have plenty of time to rest, relax, spend time at the pool, hit up the gift shops, and enjoy time with your loved ones without constantly tracking every aspect on your own.
Tip 4: Utilize Disney Planning Tools
Knowledge is power and a Disney vacation is no expectation. With the recent changes to the Lightning Lane system, you’ll want to make sure that you are educated on the ins and outs of the My Disney Experience app so you can make the reservations selections that I give you in your itinerary with ease. Luckily, we go over these details before you leave home and I give you specifics in your itinerary.
Utilizing things like Mobile Order and Mobile Checkout is going to save you SO much time and stress on your vacation! You’re going to know the ins and outs of MDE like a pro!
